How to get to the airport
Cab
Journeys cost €30 between the airport and Calle 30. No supplements are added to this fixed fare and the maximum amount for services booked remotely is not applied if the passenger is at the pick-up point on time.
If the journey is less than 9,5 km and has not been hired remotely, the minimum cost is €20.
Train
The C-1 railway line offers connections with several stations in Madrid, including Chamartín and Atocha, where passengers can transfer to long-distance and AVE high-speed trains. The ticket price is €2.60. It's free for passengers who have AVE tickets and who are travelling for a flight. The C-10 commuter line also runs from the airport to stations including Principe Pío, Atocha and Nuevos Ministerios.
Meter
There are direct connections from Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4 via metro line 8. A one-way ticket costs approximately €5. Airport surcharge: €3*.
*Transport pass and tourist pass users do not need to pay this surcharge.
Highway
Access to Terminal 4 is via the southbound M-40 ring road, M-11, A-2 (towards Madrid and Zaragoza), A-1 (towards Madrid and Burgos) and the R-2 (M-50). Access to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 is via the M-40, M-11, A-2 (towards Madrid and Zaragoza), and the A-1 (towards Madrid and Burgos).
Bus
There is a 24-hour service between all the terminals and the Puerta de Atocha railway station (express line 203). The fare is €5. Several city and inter-city bus services run to the Avenida de América bus terminal and to various points around Madrid. The city bus lines are 101 and 200. The intercity bus services are lines 822, 824, 827 and 828. Several long-distance bus companies also stop at the airport.
